The Fort Worth Zoo offers classes for home-schooled children ages 6 to 12 two Tuesdays a month from January to May. Classes include a snack, live animal presentation, guided Zoo hike and admission for each student to the Zoo on class day. Please note that the same class is offered twice a month.
CHILDREN AGES 6 TO 8:

From nests way up high in the trees to tunnels way underground, animals have homes just like people do. Homes help keep us safe. Classes will compare Zoo animal homes to theirs!

CHILDREN AGES 9 TO 12:

Why do animals migrate? What pathways do migrating animals take? Animal migration is the large-scale movement of a species from one place to another. This class will explore how and why animals migrate. Each student will learn grade-appropriate information based upon Texas Department of Education standards for Science, Math, and English and Language Arts.
