9th Texas Infantry Drill Demonstration

The 9th Texas Infantry brings history to life on Penn Farm as they portray life as a soldier in the 1860s.
The Civil War divided many families in the 1800s and the Penn Family was no exception. John Wesley and his brother Robert were Confederate soldiers in Dallas while their father, John Anderson, and his other brother fought for the Union. Join us with the 9th Texas Infantry as we step back in time and learn what life was like during the Civil War.

When: Saturday, November 18th, 2023 from 8:00am-12:00pm
Where: Penn Farm Demonstration Field
Bring: Water, and a snack if you need one.
Wear: Good shoes for walking and dress for the weather!
Cost: Free with a $7 per person park entry fee or presentation of a TPWD Annual Park Pass. Children 12 and under are free to enter the park.
