Total Eclipse of the Arts

*The event has already taken place on this date: Mon, 04/08/2024
Come and watch the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE from the coolest spot in Dallas! Experience a once-in-a-generation event surrounded by music, art, and hundreds of other pilgrims looking up at the total eclipse over the arts district. You’ll be greeted by the award- winning and locally renowned Reveler’s Hall Band marching down Sammons Park starting at 11:45a. Then, don’t miss local rising star Corina Grove and her band when they take the stage in front of the donor pool at 1p. As the eclipse reaches it’s totality, you’ll be able to look up at the sky with your Eclipse glasses, courtesy of the AT&T Performing Arts Center.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

But don’t worry if supplies run out! You’ll still be able to experience the magic by looking down at the pool, and around at the leaves on the trees surrounding you in Sammons Park. If you have time to stick around on a lovely April day, be sure to stop by the Flora Cantina, where DJ Jet Jaguar will be spinning tunes as you grab some of the tastiest and most affordable drinks and bites in the Arts District. This is an event you don’t want to miss out on. Remember, it won’t happen here again until Feb. 25, 2317!

The Revelers Hall Band burst onto the scene in early 2019 and quickly became a fan favorite for all who encounter them. Their undeniable and inescapable energy makes everyone around them feel like they’re in 1920s New Orleans. They bring the party and the tunes, so make sure to bring your friends and family!

Born in Italy and raised all over the U.S., Corina Grove now calls Dallas, TX home. At the ripe age of twelve, she picked up the guitar and hasn’t been able to put it down. She’s spent the past five years playing regionally and refining her art. Although she’s an outstanding musician, it is her voice that resonates with everyone who hears her. “With comparisons to Brandi Carlile and Bonnie Raitt ranging to The Cure, she sings like an angel with an edge.”

Taking a deep dive into her love for indie pop, she reveals her unique sound and personal approach to songwriting and recording; pure, honest and progressive. Her strength also lies in breaching the barriers of traditional genres. “She’s reminiscent of many things and something entirely new all in one.”

Her forward-looking sound will most certainly be recognized over the next few months as she releases more music.

Recently named in the “Top 10 Pop Artists” by the Dallas Observer.

DJ Jet Jaguar is a Texas native who has had an interest in spinning since the 2000s and has been building an explorative catalog of hits from different decades ever since. During the 2020 pandemic, Jet Jaguar helped keep the music alive by live-streaming DJ sets, and over the last year, has emerged as a performing DJ.  Influenced by the deep bass grooves of the late 80s, the energetic tones of the 90s and the hypnotic drums of the 00s, Jet Jaguar likes to please the crowd by playing danceable and melodic records in a set that all ages can enjoy.
