About the Workshop
Have you made snow characters before? In this workshop, students are encouraged to create a snow character by drawing and paper cutting in their own styles. For the character to come to life, students will have to fill in and build personalities and narratives. Artuta instructor Jerry will ask the what-when-why-how questions to extend imaginations from a single scenery to a flow of storytelling, resulting in students creating an image illustrating a scene of a big story. Towards the end of class, students will have the opportunity to share their drawings, reflect on what they observed, and upload images of their works to the Artuta Online Art Galleryso everyone can see!
*This class is for ages 7–9.

About Artuta
Artuta is an online art school for kids ages 4–12 featuring classes taught by working, professional artists in NYC. Our student-centered teaching methodology fosters creativity, concentration and problem-solving. Through the use of examples and by working along with instructors, students will naturally become familiar with lines, shapes, colors, materials and creative concepts.
While students are welcome to follow along with the instructor, we encourage them to explore their freedom in adapting class concepts to their own ideas, interests and personalities. Class sizes remain small, only admitting up to five students, in order to cultivate engagement and interactivity. Most of our students come to us from the Eastern Time Zone, which means in addition to becoming a young artist, our students form relationships with children from all over the world!
Coming up at Artuta
Artuta’s Winter 2023 session kicks off March 5th, focusing on drawing, collage, watercolor, and bookmaking. Step-by-step instruction enables young artists to employ simple art making methods towards increasingly complex works–leading up to a final project in week six. In addition to an expanded skill set, students will come away with a deeper relationship with their artistic practice, as each Artuta class ends with time devoted to discussion and reflection about the artwork.
Parental Guidance
There will be activities where your child will be required to cut paper or objects with scissors, which will require extra supervision. Please do not leave any child unattended while scissors or sharp objects are present. Artuta cannot be held liable for any harm or injury that takes place during its classes.
