Guests can visit a wide range of interactive booths hosted by the Rio Brazos Chapter of Texas Master Naturalists and community partners. Activities include creating insect habitats, crafting dragonflies, learning about bats and exploring the fascinating life cycle of monarch butterflies. A welcome booth will provide event schedules, distribute nature bracelets for collecting items from each booth and offer nature bingo cards for use during the guided hike.
Participants can enjoy a Monarch Migration experience, spin-to-win trivia games, pollinator garden education and plant giveaways from the Tarrant Regional Water District. Additional booths will include organizations focused on native plants, birding and outdoor education.
Throughout the event, attendees can take part in engaging activities such as a guided Nature Hike to the Pocket Prairie at 10:30 a.m., a Monarch Race that demonstrates the challenges of butterfly migration and the interactive “Pollinator Pizza” program highlighting the importance of pollinators in our food system.
Burleson Nature Discovery is designed to spark curiosity and inspire stewardship of the natural environment while providing a fun and educational outing for the whole family.
