Prairie Sky / Star Party | Kids Out and About Ft. Worth

Prairie Sky / Star Party

Due to astronomical events beyond our control and in a effort to better entertain and astound you, the 2018 schedule will not always be on the 2nd Saturdays as they have been previously. The free star-gazing events in cooperation with FW Astronomical Society, will take place on "selected" Saturdays when the night sky is most interesting. The events pick up again on Saturday, March 24, and will continue on April 21, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 13 and November 10. Occasional special events can be expected. Mark your calendars.

After many years at the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History, the well-attended, monthly public star parties presented by the Fort Worth Astronomical Society (FWAS) have moved to Tandy Hills Natural Area.

Established in 1949, FWAS is one of the first adult amateur astronomy clubs formed in the country and one of the largest with more than 200 active members.

Members will have several telescopes set up at Tandy Hills for viewing the night sky.

Free & open to the public. All ages welcome. Family/kid-friendly - No dogs - Coolers welcome - Steel City Pops will be on hand
