Spring Break Family Fun- Becoming a Pollinator Pal: Fun & Educational Activities

Bird Spotting Walk
Time: 10:00am - 11:00am
Location: Group Gathers at the Admissions Booth
Lake Mineral Wells State Park's very own David Owen will be guiding thisgroup on a colorful walk through the gardens to enjoy birdwatching. There is so much to learn and see during this fun activity for all ages. Wear close-toed comfortable walking shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them. David will be providing some binoculars.
Attendee spots will be on a first-come-first-serve basis on the day of, maxing out at 20 participants. Arrive early to secure your spot. This group will gather near the admissions booth to get started.
Participating attendees must pay general admission fees.
Pollinator Nature Book Walk & Activity
Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Group gathers at the Admissions Booth
Children and their parents will enjoy a nature book walk andend with making a seed ball to take home and plant. Join us and become a V.I.P.P (a Very Important Pollinator Pal)! This activity is ideal for children pre-k through 10 years old, though all ages are welcome.
During this walk lead by retired educator and Palo Pinto County Master Gardener, Kara Lynn Greenfield, you will learn about the importance of pollination, many of the different creatures who serve as pollinators in nature, and native plants that are important to pollinators.
Participating attendees must pay general admission fees.
Seed Ball Creating
Time: 12:00am - 12:30pm
Location: Oxbow Overlook
It’s essential to think about all pollinators, both food sources and shelter, when considering your garden.
Come roll up your sleeves and get a little messy with the Clark Gardens team, as we create seed balls. All supplies are provided, and the seeds used are those recommended with pollinators in mind. All ages welcome.
