Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing nature and people together to discover, enjoy, experience, restore and preserve our priceless environment. The goal of Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary is to connect kids with nature – with the hope to inspire within them, as well as their parents, families and teachers, a deeper appreciation for the environment. The Heard’s education department offers innovative programs designed for all age groups, interests and abilities. Programs include guided nature trails, live animal presentations, a preschool program, homeschool science classes, summer camps, adult and teacher workshops and more. Field trips, laboratory workshops, scouting programs and merit badge classes are available by reservation from September through May.

Tuesday – Saturday** 9am – 4pm Sunday 1pm – 4pm Monday Closed (See Exceptions) *Unless otherwise listed in the “special notes” section below, the Heard closes our gates at 5 p.m. and guests may not be granted entry after 4 p.m. On all days, guests will not be granted entry to museum and wildlife sanctuary less than an hour before the posted closing time. Guests must leave Heard property by closing time unless prior arrangements have been made with Heard staff. **The Heard will open at 7:30 a.m. on the Second Saturday of the month.
