The Hood County Development District #1 is a county development district authorized by the Texas Legislature under Section 383 of the Local Government Code and approved by voters in Hood County in 1999. Its purpose is the attraction of visitors and tourists to the Acton area which will result in employment and economic activity. The District is governed by a five-member board and maintains an administrative office at 6430 Smokey Hill Court, Suite 104 (next to the Acton/DCBE Volunteer Fire Department).
