Campers will explore both traditional and modern quilt styles and even try their hand at machine sewing under the guidance of skilled instructors. By the end of the week, each camper will have a unique, handcrafted quilt to take home and treasure.

Our Day Camp program is the essential Camp Thurman experience. This program started over 50 years ago in 1969. When you hear chatter about Camp Thurman, they are talking about Day Camp. We offer over 650 spots each of the 10 weeks of the summer, totaling in more than 6000 campers served each summer! We offer a wide range of activities that are catered to certain age groups to allow maximum fun, as much adventure as your camper desires, and the chance to learn more about the Gospel around every turn. Get ready for blast off! Learn about astronauts and their journeys into space exploration, the universe, and the stars above. In this camp, campers will learn about telescopes, star charts, astronomy, light, energy waves, and stars. Campers will get to visit the UTA Planetarium!
Camp Thurman- Sunshine Camp

Our half-day program is built for our youngest campers! Every activity is scheduled just for them, meaning they don't have to share activities with older kids. Our Sunshine campers get to enjoy swimming, low ropes courses, crafts and games in a condensed schedule. Each half-day is comprised of four activities, lunch, and skits. They get the right amount of Camp fun before they run out of energy!

Located in the North Texas Hill Country area, Charis Hills is a Christian Summer Camp that offers kids, ages 7 to 18, with learning differences and social difficulties—those with ADD, ADHD, high-functioning Autism, Asperger's disorder, and other special needs—an opportunity to come to a place of acceptance. We provide a positive camp experience while sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. During the camp experience, we focus on learning about Christ, improving social skills, boosting self esteem and confidence, and helping kids understand that their differences are neither uncommon nor debilitating. We play with purpose: we give kids access to traditional camp activities, combine recreation with learning, and help kids find greater success and fun in daily life.

Night camp keeps all the fun of day camp but adds in a new type of competition based activities between groups as well. Campers spend the first part of their day doing the things they loved from day camp - ropes, swimming and snacks before heading into skits and Bible study. Then the real fun begins with challenges between groups that use classic Camp Thurman elements in a whole new way. ETC is our program for those entering 7th grade, while Breakout is for those entering 8th or 9th grade.

During each week of camp, we will work with a variety of mediums that will include, painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and printmaking and more. Our mixed media camps are great for all ages 5-12. For some projects all ages will be together but there will be times when we will divide up in to younger and older groups. Everyone will still be doing the same basic project, but we may modify the process to ensure that it is age appropriate.
Intro to Drawing Anime (Grades 6-8)
