Summer Classes at the Nature Center provide students with an exciting hands-on, experiential opportunity to explore our natural world. A variety of STEM programs and topics offer an interactive, engaging way to learn about wildlife, ecology and the environment with classes ranging from Preschool to 8th Grade. Weekly Summer Camps are available throughout June and July, offering a 9am–12pm schedule for children ages 3–4 years old, and a 9am–3pm schedule for 1st–8th graders.

Creator Camp’s summer programs for ages 5–7 are all about playful creativity and exploration! Campers are invited to explore aviation, space, and STEM through our Destination: Exploration Summer Camps! Campers can look forward to week-long adventures by exploring hands-on activities and challenges designed to spark curiosity in aviation careers, weather, and historic aircraft. Premium camps feature robotics and drones, where campers build and take home their creations.

Campers ages 4 to 10 will hike throughout the Zoo each day, cool off at Safari Splash, feed giraffes and learn at live animal presentations. Plus, they’ll have all the fun of traditional summer camp with arts & crafts, outdoor games, a field day and friendly competitions to see which team has the best cheer! Half-day camps are for 4- and 5-year-olds who have not completed kindergarten. Full-day camps are for children 5 years old (who have completed kindergarten) through 10 years old. Middle School and High School Summer Zoo Camp gives campers special behind-the-scenes access at the Fort Worth Zoo. From mammals and ectotherms to veterinary and nutrition, each session allows campers to focus on their areas of interest as they get up close to their favorite Zoo residents. Overnight Summer Zoo Camp, for ages 8 to 10, is everything your kids love about the Zoo – after the park closes! Breakfast and a Summer Zoo Camp T-shirt are included.

Adventure Awaits Inside Our Gates! Camp is a time for youth to explore, discover, and create in a place that encourages confidence and community. An overnight experience provides opportunities for kids to experience new interests and take appropriate risks while learning what it means to be a good friend and leader. YMCA camps grow and change with your kids, offering fresh ways for them to connect to their potential, purpose and each other.

Join HDC Aerial Camp for a week of intense learning and honing new skills! Campers will participate in conditioning, aerial silks, trapeze and lyra class, and repertory/compositional work which will culminate in an informal showing each Friday at 3:30pm. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend and see all the progress after just one week!
